We are blessed with a wonderful ministry of music at St. Mark's. There are a variety of groups, both vocal and instrumental, giving praises to God.
It all starts with our staff. Chris Beiser has been the Director of Music since 1996. His incredible talent and leadership is well known and instrumental in spirit in our music ministry. Sue Combs is a gifted performer and educator, and has been blessed with a wonderful heart for God and people. They, along with our volunteer directors and musicans, guide our worship and help us feel closer to God.
Here are the various groups that offer their gifts of music to the Kingdom of God and St. Mark's:
Belles of St. Mark's
The Belles of St. Mark's is our Women's ensemble that sings about once a month in worship. They rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 in the Library. Leader: Dianne Aiken.
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir provides music for our traditional worship, plus special performances of Christmas and Easter Cantatas. They rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 in the Choir Room. Leader: Chris Beiser.
Children's Choir
Our children sing as part of their Sunday School time, and occasionally, share their music in worship. Leader: Dianne Aiken.
Handbells
Our Handbell Choir shares their distinctive and inspiring music about once a month in worship. It is a wonderful group to be part of, especially if you want to play music but don't particularly like to sing music. They rehearse Wednesday evenings at 6:30 in the Sanctuary. Leader: Jeanne Long.
Marksmen
The Marksmen are our Men's Ensemble who specialize in sharing four-part gospel music. But they're not just a bunch of guys who harmonize; they share their gift with area nursing homes to bring music and joy to residents and staff. They rehearse on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 in the Choir Room. Leader: Sue Combs.
Christmas Cantata Video
Thanks to Tim Mislanski, who faced his fear of heights, recorded and rendered these videos for us.
