St. Mark's United Methodist Church

Our service personnel are far from home, and getting a care package means a great deal to them, especially if it is filled with prayer. Our ministry to service personnel sends care packages to anyone, no matter where they are serving. The ministry began in May 2007 and is championed by Ann Shellman.

In 2008, St. Mark’s sent a over 162 boxes to persons in the military:

This year, we sent out a Christmas box to all the Military personnel overseas the first of December. In the middle of the month, we sent a Christmas box to the Military personnel stationed in the US and another box to the personnel stationed in Harm’s way.

At the beginning of 2009, a box will be mailed to all personnel in Harm’s Way. Other boxes will be mailed to these people throughout the year. In each box is a letter telling the recipient that the box is being sent to them by St. Mark’s and Lindenwald United Methodist Churches in the name and with the love of Jesus Christ, and thanking them for the wonderful job they are doing in defending our freedom.

We’re thrilled to report that in December, Lindenwald United Methodist Church joined our project. Twelve of the above boxes were sent to Military personnel sponsored by Lindenwald members. They have a donation box exactly like ours. Both Lindenwald and St. Mark’s make donations of items to be sent to the Military personnel.
